It’s election day and all of us here at Justia hope you get out and vote! Given that we’ll have a new Congress at the beginning of the year, we’d like to point you to some iPhone apps you can download to keep informed on what’s going on in the U.S. Senate and House.   Note: All of these apps are FREE.

C-Span Radio – Listen to Congressional hearings along with audio streams of public affairs programming from C-SPAN Radio, C-SPAN and C-SPAN2.

Civic Tweets – Follow the tweets of your federal and state elected representatives on Twitter. This app also includes tweets of local politicians in selected large cities.

The Hill – Contains the latest news from the U.S. House and Senate, updates from The Hill blogs and information on what’s going on in the world of business and lobbying in Washington.

Real Time Congress – From Sunlight Labs, this app provides real-time schedules, updates and documents from the U.S. Congress.

VoterHub – VoterHub is a non-partisan clearinghouse of information on the 2010 election.

(Also, be sure check out Ken’s Onward post from last week if you still need information about the candidates running for office, what’s on various ballot measures or where to go to cast your vote.)

VisibleVote – “Vote” and advise congress on upcoming legislation. This app lets you track bills in Congress and contact your elected representatives to let them know your views and opinions. You can also view state-wide vote tallies to see where the legislators in your state stand on various issues.

GovLoop – GovLoop is a 35,000 member “social network for government.” The app allows you to follow the top blogs and discussions from members, read government news articles and provides access to trending government topics on Twitter.

U.S. Code – Browse or search the U.S. Code by keyword or legal citation.  Note: this app contains the most recent official electronic version of the U.S. Code but does not include the very latest statutes adopted by Congress.
