Each of the four infringement claims, the complaint charges, involve Apple “products utilizing pulse-width modulation signals to drive light-emitting diodes.” Apple’s newest iPad a/k/a the ‘iPad 3,’ and Macbook Pro are named specifically.
The four patents at issue include:
- No. 6,095,661: Method and apparatus for an L.E.D. flashlight
- No. 7,393,119: Method and apparatus for constant light output pulsed L.E.D. illumination
- No. 6,808,287: Method and apparatus for a pulsed L.E.D. illumination source
- No. 6,488,390: Color-adjusted camera light and method
LED Tech Development filed three similar patent lawsuits just eight days earlier against the maker of MagLite flashlights, Home Depot, and Coleman.
